Servant of All?

Mark 9:35

35 Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, "If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all."

NIV

Although I have been serving in my church since I was a young kid if I was honest with myself I would questions rather I have a clue of what it means to be the servant of all. I love serving God and doing things for him but that is one of the reasons it seems so easy. I love it. What if I didn’t? When I step out of my body and watch myself I wonder if I have any clue on what it is to be last and be the servant of all. If I enjoy it so much then am I really being a servant? But if I walk away from what I am doing am I still serving God the way he wants me to?

I want to know what it means to be last, not so I can be first, but so I can find out what it means to be a servant of all.

Do what I don't.

Find ways to serve that you don't like to do, and/or you don't have to do.

It's that "extra mile" "turn cheek" thing that Jesus talks about in Matthew 5

right that is the thought but is that the call. If we only have so much time in the day then shouldn't we invest our time in using our "gifts" not using our weekness so we do stuff we don't like and there fore be the "servant of all".

I am realizing being the servant of all serving my family. Putting their desires above all. even if my work at church isn't things I don't like.
